Marvel Universe MMO

Thursday evening Marvel revealed more details about there Marvel Universe MMO. Out of all the stuff I have heard today I don't know which is best, the fact that the Marvel Universe MMO will be free to play! As I am not much of a gamer & get bored very easily but love comics this is awesome news for me, the players can also use Marvel characters. Confirmed characters include Thor, Captain America, Iron-man, Spider-man, Wolverine, Hulk, Nova & Doctor Doom as the villain. The next thing and maybe the best news, Brain Micheal Bendis will be writing the script for the MMO. Brain Micheal Bendis is the man behind most of Marvels events & it is awesome to hear that he is having such a big part in this free to play MMO!

Submarine

Submarine in a British movie that will be coming out 3rd of June in the US and hopefully Canada. I am originally from England & I am even more excited about this movie because the director who also wrote the screenplay for this movie Richard Ayoade is incredibly funny in the British TV comedy The IT Crowd, which can be seen on Canadian Netfilx.
http://www.theitcrowd.co.uk/

This movie was shown at Sundance 2010 and got mostly good reviews. It has been described as a British Rushmore, which i think is a great compliment and I love the trailer for Submarine. This is defiantly one I wont be missing this summer.

Doll House Season 1

I have tried very hard to not include Spoilers!

As you can probably tell I am a huge Whedon fan! I was very excited about Dollhouse but found it hard to find the time to watch it. Resently Dollhouse season 1&2 had been added to Canadian Netflix, and i now have the time.

The first episode was pretty cool, it explained the basic concept of the Dollhouse & created enough intrigue  about why the active's (the doll's) have come to volunteer themselves to have there memories and personalities stripped and replaced on a daily basis for use of who ever is willing to pay. So in theory Echo (Eliza Dushku) could be a imprinted as a completely different person every episode. Now that raises a few worries, how can you connect with a character who is completely different personality each episode, someone who's emotions are removed at the end of each job? Well after the first episode I felt for Echo, after the first scene I felt for Echo! Also the character around her who are investigating the Dollhouse or there to care of Echo's wellbeing have enough subtle human emotion that it compensates for the Active's lack of emotion.

The other worry I had was the repetitiveness of the idea that each episode Echo is given a new job a new personality, the job will go wrong it will end in a fight and Echo will come out on top. and Yes the first few episodes start like that but be patient and give to at least episode 5, 6 if then you are not into it then maybe it's not your thing.

From the half way point onwards I really got into this series, Echo became a really person to me finding out things about who she used to be and wanting to know more and get her back to that person. All so there are a number of active's that I became very attached to which was more than i was expecting.

As usual I found Whedon's cast very likable Harry Lennix and Tahmoh Penikett were refreshing as the strong male's in the role of protecting & helping Echo but were also the main source of emotion. Fran Kranz was the Xander like character who provides much needed comic relief but also has a vital role in which the Dollhouse could not work without him. I also love to see some of Whedon's regular Amy Acker and Alan Tudyk have some interesting role's which I am not going to talk about to avoid Spoilers

All I am going to say about the end to the first season of Dollhouse is that I didn't have high hopes going in to this series, I was excited about the idea of Whedon's new series but I had heard some not so good reviews. I was nicely surprised how much I enjoyed this series. There were some great light hearted scenes that balanced out the dark and seedy idea of people volunteering there body for the rich to imprint there ideal personality for whatever fantasy's  they want to fulfill.

My favorite part of the hole season was the relationship between Topher (Fran Kranz) & one of the Active's Sierra  (Dichen Lachman) in episode 10 Haunted which is one of the weaker episode but the Topher & Sierra story line is awesomely cute and shows a none active who's life is consumed by the Dollhouse and has a chance to fulfill what is missing in his world with a Innocently real fantasy.

All the character have plenty issues of there own and many story lines going on to keep you interested and surprised, I would not say that this is even close to the best that we have seen from Whedon, I would probably say it's my least favorite but I still enjoyed it and found it entertaining even with a slow start and a few week episodes here and there.

Jonesing for some Buffy

I am a massive Buffy geek, I have grown up watching Buffy and I love Joss Whedon and everything that he has created, From TV to Movie to Comic books.

I love these limited edition Buffy Jones soda bottles, with artwork by Georges Jeanty from Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 8 comic book series.

So should I buy or not? I wouldn't be able to bring myself to drink them unless I got the 12 pack one set to drink & one set to keep. This is something that I would never really need but I can't help thinking how awesome they would look displayed with my comic trades or maybe placed nicely next to my Serenity Fruity Oaty Bar! lunch box. Maybe I will give in or maybe I will just buy an other comic trade that looks tasty.

The most perfect thing made for TV

Spaced is a UK series written by Simon Pegg & Jessica Hynes & directed by Edgar Wright, in 1999. There were only 2 seasons made, 7 episodes in a season. But that is half the beauty, there is so few & in my opinion they are perfect!

Spaced is full of geeky references to STAR WARS, movies, comics, video games, pop culture & STAR WARS, so many it may take a few viewing's to catch the more obscure ones.

I am in love with this series and have been from the moment I watched the 1st episode on tv.
